Literary Witchery, Tarot, Tarot for Writers

#LitWitchJune & Updates…

I do love Sunday afternoon..

Mostly, its the time I get to cook dinner, bath then read till I’m too tired. Today is no exception, but before I do I would like to send out a few updates about what I am up to with Literary Witchery.

Writing:

I recently discovered a podcast and website called The Worried Writer. Author Sarah Painter helps people to smash through blocks, and cope with self-doubt, two things I struggle with.

I’ve also created business cards. I haven’t got a business, per se but I’ve been to enough writing/literary festivals to know I always feel inadequate without them. They should be delivered soon, and I am super excited.

On the actual writing front, I have been in a huge slump. Once I feel like I am beginning to crawl out from. I so now realize that that other stresses such as workplace troubles, cause me to ‘block’ I need to be able to look past this and I am working on it.

Tarot:

I’ve been working on creating some spreads for Character building for Tarot. once I’ve sorted these I will be creating the initial journey from Fool to World. Plus, I’ll be looking at creating some worksheets.

Reading:

I almost forgot. I am currently reading Blood Rose by Danielle Rose. Its a gorgeous YA trilogy about Vampires and Witches. It’s Intense, but a great read.

Tarot Review: Eight Coin Tattoo Tarot

My first Tarot deck I am going to review is stunning. It’s by the very talented Lana Zellner, Check out her Instagram: Here.  The artwork is phenomenal, and I can’t stop staring at them.

So let’s start with the box, it’s a Hardshell with finger grooves at the side to assist in opening, The first thing I notices was a folder poster, which practically lept out of the box.

Next came the guidebook, It’s by far the best I’ve ever seen. The Images are in COLOUR, and the side pages have small tabs, for each of the suits and Major Arcana. The guide begins to describe her creating/drawing process

Next, the cards, they are very slippery, but overall a nice feel to them. There are 82 cards overall. six of the cards, have an original drawing from the first version of the deck. I personally have removed these ones, because, although nice cards, I would work with just the 76 cards.

The tattoo imagery is neo-traditional, as in the vintage tattoo that screams 1950s hillbilly, but that I am totally having for my first tattoo.. whenever that happens

Ultimately, I am really looking forward to using this deck, more, and the rich imagery is spellbinding.

You can purchase the deck from Amazon.
